Summary

Welcome to the Coffee Table Book project page!

Captain Sterling and Mica Alpern had an idea after Captain saw someone at the Dallas meetup setting up a professional studio in order to take pictures of people with their boards. What if there was a way to set up a photography/studio area at meetups for people to get pictures of their boards taken?

Then, they sign a press release form or some type of form giving permission for those pictures to be put into coffee table books.

Imagine a hardcover, high-quality book featuring photos of keyboards. User/community-submitted pictures, different “volumes” of books, the possibilities are endless! Imagine a series called “The Content Creators” with each book being dedicated to a specific content creator’s photos.

The Alexotos volume, the Captain Sterling volume, The Taeha Types volume, and so on. Not only that, but there could be meetup-specific photos of the meetup and the boards at the meetup, sort of like a yearbook!

It sounds like a super fun idea, and it’s something that KF is very excited to help with.

Current Status

12th of August, 2026

Simon took a look at the meeting notes, gave his opinions.
- Loved the idea of themed books, talked about print quality, need to figure out legalities.
- Brainstormed pricing, next steps (see the docx file of the 5th of August meeting notes).

5th of August, 2026

Hubert meets with Captain Sterling (meeting notes in the Nextcloud Coffee Table Book folder).
Great brainstorming session, and there are so many ways to go about making the idea a reality.
Discussed starting with a specific “volume” or focus to prove the concept, then grow from there.
- Still need to figure out exact format of each book (photos only? Photos and write-ups?)
- Legal process, manufacturing/printing partner, revenue/compensation model, and more.
