Welcome to the XTEEEEEEE project page!

Led by the professional Bahraini basketball player, Thebloodyez, this project originally was just a fully brass variant. However… after some consideration, it’s not the only option anymore.

Thebloodyez does a great job with updates, and while I (Hubert) will try my best to keep this page up-to-date, feel free to check out the Geekhack posts below for any other info that may not be on this page! Specifically, project specs.

These project pages are not necessarily full-blown info pages, but more so status pages, so all the specs of this project and others won’t be on this page, but probably on the Geekhack (or other) pages below.

Current Status

13th of September, 2026

Pledge phase starting on the 20th of September, 2026.
- After the pledge phase, final protos will be made before going into GB phase.

10th of September, 2026

Ready for pledge/GB phase!

6th of September, 2026

Discussed colors (4-5 total probably feasible. Silver, black, red, teal, pink?)
- Red - Pantone 188c
- Teal - Pantone 2233c
  - Bloody wants a lighter teal, so this will probably change (render is above though)
    - Went with a minty green type color (see above)
- Pink - Pantone 706c
- Black - Black
- Silver - Silver
Renders with those pantones will be worked on.
Quotes for the base aluminum version and brass version will be obtained from a manufacturer in the near future.

New renders done by the number 1 renderer in the biz! Once they become finalized, they will be added (or already added) above.

15th of August, 2026

Bloody and Hubert met for a monthly update.
PCB working as intended, considering shortening JST cable.
Custom UDB will be removed to save cost, but will still live on for a future project (rebel edition maybe?)
Carrying case being looked at. Really cute!
Bloody is in talks with a manufacturer to get quotes for both the brass variant, and the base alu variant.
Case colors considered. Green? Silver? Black?
Simon should release some info/tease/announce updates. Many people are thinking that the XTEEE is still brass-only, but it’s not - Alu variant at a really great price!
Next steps - Another proto, decide on final colors.

PCB proto order placed, fitment tests w/PCB into case being done.
Geekhack IC and GB updated.
Carrying bag samples looked at.
V2 Proto tasted and works!
- Quality of Life (QoL) improvements being worked through.

23rd of July, 2026

Further PCB troubleshooting.
Working on quotes for both the brass and alu versions. Do people really want the brass variant?
8k edition still being thought about.

4th of July, 2026

Bloody and Hubert had their first meeting about both the XTEEE and X60T/Jeremy.
Full meeting notes in the Nextcloud Project XTEE & X60T file (not accessible to the public).
Physical prototype with Bloody, currently undergoing PCB troubleshooting.
8K edition shelved for now.
GB/pledge timing is tentatively Q3-Q4 2026.
- We do not want to overpromise and underdeliver, so take this estimated date range with a grain of salt!
